Our Services

PATH is the public policy information and advisory arm of SHFT. We provide pro-bono advisory services to programs aiming to establish sustained funding models.

Sustainable
Funding

Reducing Barriers
to Vital Healthcare

Establishing a sustainable funding model allows public health programs to focus on what's most important - providing access to healthcare in their communities. Together with Payers, Providers and State Health Systems, we support the following types of programs to reduce financial barriers to access:

Immunization Programs
Support for
Specialized Needs
Psychiatry Partnership Access Lines (Behavioral Health)
Opioid and Addiction Resources

Achieving the Goal
through a Sustainable
Funding Approach

Patients gain enhanced and immediate access to vital healthcare services.
Insurance companies participate in an equitable approach to financing essential services delivered to their members at a fraction of the cost of traditional specialty and hospital care reimbursement rates.
Immunization Programs deliver improved access to vaccines at no cost to healthcare providers and reduced costs to insurance companies.
Mental Health Clinicians receive timely consultation and education from experts which they in turn deliver in real-time to their patients in need.

The
Process

Sustainable funding is established through a per-member, per-month assessment for covered lives.

Funds are transferred to the department of health to cover program costs.

Payers report covered lives on a quarterly basis through an online portal and remit payment to the program.

This methodology has been in place for vaccine programs for well over a decade.

Washington's Partnership Access Line, WAPAL, has successfully leveraged this model for behavioral healthcare for more than two years.
